Double Mortality Risk for Depressed Heart Disease Patients

A statistical analysis discovered the 2,646 patients who were later diagnosed with depression were twice as likely to die during the average of 10 years they were tracked following the first detection of heart disease, said Heidi May, the lead author of the study and a cardiovascular epidemiologist at the Intermountain Medical Center Heart Institute.
