vimeo.com
Fluid overload is associated with increased morbidity and mortality. In this presentations an overview is given of the different definitions followed by a step-by-step description of the deleterious effects of fluid overload on endorgan function (from brain to abdomen). Finally some monitoring tools (eg extravascular lung water, bio-electrical impedance analysis) are presented that can help to identify those patients that may need late goal directed fluid removal (deresuscitation).
